چکیده

Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a group of self-organized mobile nodes that are associated with comparatively low bandwidth wireless links. This paper proposes an effective queuing architecture, which supports both elastic and inelastic traffic. The packets of inelastic flows are always stored ahead of those of the elastic flows. If a link is critically loaded by the inelastic traffic, it results in large delays and elastic traffic may have some delay constraints that are nonnegligible. The virtual queue algorithm reduces the experienced delay by comprising virtual queues that are served at a fraction of the actual service rate and by using the virtual queue-length values in utility function. Then, optimization framework is used in which scheduling algorithm allocates resource fairly in the network to meet the fairness objectives of both elastic and inelastic flows. Finally, priority dropping active queue management algorithm is designed based on proportional-integral design (PID) mechanism which provides the differentiated services for the different layers or frames according to their priority.

Energy Efficient Mac Protocol with Fair- Scheduling Technique in Manet

In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs), achieving fairness and increasing channel utilization are the important design goals of scheduling. However, these two goals contradict with each other. In this paper, a fair-scheduling technique for inelastic traffic flows in MANET is proposed. The network traffic is differentiated into two categories as elastic and inelastic flows. In this technique, data p...

Cluster Based Cross Layer Intelligent Service Discovery for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

The ability to discover services in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major prerequisite. Cluster basedcross layer intelligent service discovery for MANET (CBISD) is cluster based architecture, caching ofsemantic details of services and intelligent forwarding using network layer mechanisms. The cluster basedarchitecture using semantic knowledge provides scalability and accuracy. Also, the mini...

Drop Strategies and Queuing Mechanisms for Differentiation

The Internet architecture is currently being extended to support differentiated services. These extensions allow assignment of different levels of drop precedence to IP packets. With precedence levels, isolated forwarding of in profile packets can be offered. When offering such differentiated forwarding, it is important that the utilization of congested links does not get degraded due to effect...

Implementation of Traffic Conditioning and PHB mechanisms in OPNET

Differentiated Service Model (DiffServ) is currently a popular research topic as a low-cost method to bring QoS to today’s Internet, especially in the backbone. The DiffServ architecture consists of two key components: traffic conditioning at the edge and Per Hop Behavior (PHB) at the edge and the core. Traffic Conditioners contain various elements such as classifier, meter, marker, shaper and ...

A Phenomenological Study on Inelastic Torsion Caused By Nonlinear Behavior Changes during Earthquake Excitations

Torsion of many symmetric structures, which were designed based on the seismic codes, is due to their asymmetricity induced during inelastic behavior. Although the structure was designed symmetrically assuming elastic based criteria, different factors such as material inconsistency in structure, construction details discrepancy and construction errors may result in asymmetric behavior in inelas...
